Had a completely fabulous evening last night hanging out with most of what is left of the Atlanta-based gehennom peeps and then going out to a hipstery event that was, as they tend to be, in my opinion, hilariously silly and fun. It was really good to hang out with kids that I haven't seen in quite a while, and also extremely nice to have company in the new house. Totally completely psyched about the party in three weeks, just for the ability to make dinner for a crowd and hopefully have lots of drinking and dancing occur. And hopefully have no bad smells on the porch, so we can chill out there and enjoy the porch swing, which is one of my favoritest things of the house. It's not as favorite as my room, perhaps, but it does seem to me that my room is pretty much the best thing ever.

There's a couple other best things ever in my life right now, too. It's v. fun.

Another occassion for entertaining: the revival of soup night! This Tuesday, seafood gumbo AND spicy tomato cilantro, for anyone veggieasaurus enough to want to avoid the yummy yummy shrimps. Or for anyone who freaking loves good spicy tomato soups with dollops of sour cream on them. I hope that Casey and I are able to reinject some of the life into soup night that it had when I first started going, because it was the greatest little weeknight event, to go over to these totally cool kids' house, help them in the kitchen a little if they needed it, drink a glass of wine, and talk to all varieties of interesting people that were fun and outgoing. It's unbelievable to me that there can be whole founts of people worth talking to at Georgia Tech (where most all of the original attendees of soup nights hailed from, though we accept soup-eaters of all creeds and colors), and gives me hope for the world that they do exist. YOU are perhaps one of these people. Come, eat soup, perhaps play a board game or two, perhaps have a glass of wine or more, bring anyone you think might be in need of delicious soup and good company.

Badly need a nap, shall talk more later, after nick's crazy party if my thoughts can still form linear paths.
