Got to go swimming for what will probably be the last time this summer yesterday; it was horribly chilly, and yet the iciness felt really delicious somehow. Totally lit every nerve on my skin on fire.

Ate tons and tons of Italian food and drank enough Chianti to make my teeth purple. It is unbelievably strange to imagine the GG-8 without Marc there. It is nice to have a good friend in Europe, ready to take in wayward travellers, though. Even if they are crazy and French. Greatest luck goes out to the Frenchman, may he find a fabulous job to keep him travelling often and drinking fine wine!
