Attempting... to limit... girly feelings. Difficult... to fight...

Berny told me tonight to cut the mind-numbing touchy-feely minutia that gets splattered around here and talk more about him.

Um.

BERNY RULZ!

For real he does because even though I giggle a lot over lots of things, sometimes it is because I feel awkward social tension and must cover it, and sometimes it it because I have an uncontrollable but not entirely welcome compulsion (which can only be equivocated perhaps to tickling, though I sometimes get the sensation without physical touch), but when Berny makes me laugh it is almost always related to the fact that I am really really happy to be around him and that makes me jolly.

Other people who rule lately: Bonnie and Rob, who left me a message that put a gigantic grin on my face this afternoon despite the fact I was walking through the asphalt jungle in 800 million degree heat; Dave, who's downloaded gallons of G.O.B. hilarity and also happens to be full of gallons of hilarity HIMSELF; Brian, who has a sweetass roof to hang out on and invited us all over to do so AND who finally gave me back my books!; Becky, who was my impetus to go to MJQ on Saturday, and from now on I will totally always follow her advice on getting out and shaking it up, because it was totally bodacious; Parker, who is making a movie that is, in the words of my mommy, "Cr-r-r-r-r-eepy! But that was the goal, so it's a compliment, right? Right."

Andy doesn't rule because he NOT ONLY said it was my type of people who are bringing MJQ down, but also when I called him a girly-girl, he retaliated by looking pointedly at me and saying "Well, someone has to be."

OOOOOH snap

Been on so much of a design kick this afternoon that I'm thinking about applying to the GT's Information Design program, in addition to the more rigorous scientific programs I've already put in my back pocket. Of course, I don't want to curse myself into going "down a rank" into the hoards of unemployed freelance graphic designers. But just because it's not common that designers have low-level programming skills doesn't mean it couldn't be a useful, or even awesome, juxtaposition.

It might mean that, though. I'll have to brainstorm on it a little.

In that spirit, I played with Photoshop for the first time in ages, and realized I missed it a lot. Expect something new to grace the design of this page or another in the near future, but in the meantime, here's what I made to show how much of the US I still need to see. Everywhere further west than the eastern seaboard, really.
