at the office, finishing up for the day
I just realized today that it's going to be October in 5 days. From an email I wrote earlier:
I've been swamped like hell lately too, but if you don't make a point to at least do a fun thing or two on the weekend, what the hell is the point of being in the best city in the U.S., THAT I ask you! We maybe could do something this weekend? Maybe food, since you have to eat no matter how busy you are, or maybe a fair in Brooklyn, since there are at least TWO going on this weekend, one artsy and one more general jolliness. Also my favorite band (aside from the Wydelles) is playing on Sat., the Magnolia Electric Co., in Gramercy, if either of you guys are into that sort of thing, but shows are not necessarily the best event at which to say hi and catch up or anything relaxing, which I guess we all need, given that September makes everyone think they can do everything. But it's almost October, which is the best month of the year, I think. Best month in the best city, coming up in just 5 days.
Otherwise, I'm just studying for the core exam on Friday and panicking, because that's what I do. I think I must enjoy it, because I chose to be taking this huge test, chose these constant reminders in my head of scheduling algorithms, qualities of grammars, this folder that follows me on the subway every day (my subway ride is usually responsible for the nice quotations at the top of my entries, but I chose to deny you guys the joys of my Ada/Scheme/ML/C++ constructs and my threading philosophy).
That's all the time I can spare. More after Friday.
