+ this collection of quotations is the longest thing here, and the most interesting for me, at least, to go back over. It was mostly compiled during my junior year in high school though I do add bits and pieces occasionally. I do realize that there are many conflicting ideas presented; Ayn probably wouldn't like the Brazilians saying that man can't eat money, some are amazingly cheesily optimistic, and some are as sardonic and cynical as I ever get.

+ this is quite possibly the most pretentious and condescending thing I have ever written. I sent it out with my college apps, on recommendation from our obsessively involved college counselor. (Another freaky woman from the Day school that makes me feel murderous. Grrrr... I don't like her one bit.) Really, someone should've stopped me from sending this. I sound like such a snotty little twit! I am not surprised at all that Harvard rejected that.

+ on that note, I have my college essay, also. I made up my own question, but, you know, it's a pretty typical one, I guess. I like it because it reminds me of one of the best conversations I've ever had, with one of the best friends I've ever had. Although Doannie and I hardly keep in touch, there was a time in that summer that he knew me better than anyone else in the world, well enough not only to know that I would be torturous to be in love with, but to be able to tell me in a way that was thought-provoking, instead of just provoking. If you ever come across this page, Doan, just know I miss you, and our tree on West Lawn.

+ yet another relatively old document languoring in my hard drive. I updated it vaguely, by clearing out the things on it that I'd gotten since I wrote it: The Fountainhead, Living in Clip, the first and second Beatles Anthologies, more RAM, and the Trivial Pursuit Millenium Edition, to name a few of my satiated urges.
